It is intended that all shooters competing in the League and scoring points in League shoots will need to be members of the GBFCA. Knowing that everyone is already a member of one or more shooting bodies, we have kept the GBFCA fee to an absolute minimum at just £10.00 per year. It is not essential to be a GBFCA member to shoot in the League but priority will be given to GBFCA members if places are limited.
Also, all competitors' rifles scoring League points will need to comply with GBFCA rules - which are in line with the World F Class rules (ICFRA). We will therefore need to scrutineer your rifle at your first shoot. This will entail weighing, checking fore-end width and on occasion, chronographing ammunition - where there may be an issue of range-safety. Rifles shot off a bipod must be weighed with the bi-pod in place.
F/TR class rifles must also qualify as above and in addition they must be capable of chambering a standard 308Win. or 223 Rem. cartridge as appropriate.
F/TR CLASS
Any rifle chambered in 308 Win/7.62mm or 223 Remington/5.56mm is eligible for F/TR. Shoot off a bi-pod only plus back-bag, any scope/sights and using factory or hand-loaded ammunition. Maximum weight including scope and bi-pod - 8.25 kg. In all other respects, rifles must however comply with the rules for 'open' F Class rifles. The F/TR Class will be a class within the usual 'Open' class. League points will be awarded as per 2006/7 but there will be a seperate points classification for the F/TR shooters.
If you are contemplating running an F/TR rig in 2010, you might like to have a look at an interview with Russell Simmonds, World Champion and the 2009 F/TR GB League winner under 'F/TR Only'.
